My client is a tier one Investment Bank with an outstanding opportunity available for a technically gifted Java Programmer to join a strong team working in Quantitative Research IT. Working alongside colleagues in Fixed Income Strategies and Economics, your target will be to develop web based applications on quantitative analysis models for the emerging markets business. You will be concentrating on bonds, FX, CDS and swaps in addition to building predictive tools in order to analyse inflation and other factors influencing emerging markets. The strong technology focus is both front and back end and will require strong Java, JSPs and Oracle skills. Web development skills such as Tapestry, Servlets/JSPs and AJAX are essential. A working understanding of other web based front end technologies like Struts, SEAM, JSF and GWT will be advantageous as well as experience with JMS. Adapting to client requirements, communicating effectively and having a strong sense of independence are characteristics that will help you to succeed in this role.
